Costas Boussios, PhD

Costas Boussios, PhD, is the Chief Data Scientist at OM1, where he leads Research and Development for the PhenOM® AI Platform, built to advance medical research and personalize medicine. Dr. Boussios is a co-inventor on 9 issued US patents in healthcare AI, focusing on areas such as patient phenotyping and subtyping, AI explainability, and the impact of relative timing on outcomes. He is also the co-author of over 15 peer-reviewed publications in healthcare AI, spanning disease areas including depression, cardiovascular disease, and various autoimmune conditions. Before joining OM1, Dr. Boussios served as Chief Data Scientist at Mitra Capital LLC, recognized as the world’s top-performing equity market neutral hedge fund by net return rates in 2015. His background also includes leading Data Science teams in credit scoring. Dr. Boussios earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, specializing in machine learning and feedback control systems.
